According to a report by Technews Taiwan, Asus is presently undergoing an internal restructuring, which has led to the reduction of certain departments as part of this initiative. The report mentions that as part of the restructuring plan, the company is completely shutting down the Zenfone division and the employees of the department will be absorbed into the ROG Phone team and other businesses.
The report also mentions that Zenfone 10 will be the last phone of the series. With the complete shut down of the division it is unlikely that the smartphone will get a successor.
The report comes in the wake of other events involving Zenfone. Prior to this, Asus had temporarily suspended the option for Zenfone owners to unlock their bootloaders. The company clarified that this move doesn’t signify a permanent halt to unlocking possibilities; rather, the unlocking tool is presently unavailable.
