Harry Kane has warned Bayern Munich to expect a backlash from ‘dangerous’ Manchester United when the two clash in their Champions League opener in Germany on Wednesday night.
United have lost three of their opening five Premier League games amid a number of injury problems, and off-field issues involving Mason Greenwood, Antony and Jadon Sancho.
But Kane, 30, believes it will make Erik ten Hag’s side all the more determined to start strongly in Europe at the Allianz Arena, against the team they beat in the 1999 Champions League final.
‘It’s a tough game,’ said the England captain, who was strongly linked with a move to United this summer before he left Tottenham for Bayern in a deal worth up to £100million.
‘I know Manchester United are going through a difficult period at the moment, but sometimes teams like that are dangerous because they’re always looking to come back big.

‘The Champions League is always special, and my first game with Bayern Munich will stay with me — so I hope it goes well,’ said Kane, who has scored four goals in five games for the Bundesliga giants.
Meanwhile, United have suffered another injury blow after they confirmed right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be out for several weeks following a late substitute appearance in Saturday’s 3-1 home defeat by Brighton.
United already have Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Mason Mount, Sofyan Amrabat, Tyrell Malacia, Amad Diallo and Tom Heaton out of action, though Ten Hag has indicated Varane and Mount are close to a return.
