A Congress MLA from Dwarahat in Uttarakhand’s Almora district was booked for allegedly hurling abusive words at the director of a local engineering college and creating a ruckus at his residence on Monday night.
According to the complaint filed by KKS Mer (Director of Kumaon Engineering College), Madan Singh Bisht, a Congress MLA from Dwarahat, first abused him over phone and later reached his home along with his men and created a ruckus.
KKS Mer said he has the audio clip with him, and the chaos was also recorded on camera. He also expressed fear for his life from MLA Madan Bisht.
Madan Bisht, in his turn, filed a counter complaint alleging that the engineering college director had violated protocol by not responding to his repeated telephone calls.
He said that he wanted to talk to the director regarding mess workers.
“I tried to reach him on call but he did not answer his phone despite six attempts. When I visited his house, he asked me to ‘get lost’, used foul language, which is an absolute violation of protocol,” the Congress MLA said.
The police are investigating the matter.
